EXECUTIVE CATERING CHEF, BRIDGEWATERS AND TWENTY FOUR FIFTH

Michael Goldsborough is the executive catering chef for Bridgewaters and Twenty Four Fifth in New York. A native New Yorker, his specialty is translating the fine dining experience to private events of all kinds, with a focus on excellent American cuisine.

Goldsborough grew up on Long Island, where his favorite pastime was rising early to fish each day in the freshwater lake behind his home and in the Great South Bay. For him the water is the place where he finds the "ultimate reflection." Goldsborough believes in fresh, local produce that lend outstanding flavor to his cuisine. "Simple, rustic cooking" is his passion, as is perusing the farmers' markets not just in Manhattan but on his native Long Island. He grows his own herbs on Brigewaters' wrap-around terraces to have on hand for everything from freshly made hummus to grilled fish and lamb chops.

Goldsborough first worked as a sous chef alongside David Walzog at Monkey Bar, then at Michael Jordan's The Steak House N.Y.C., finally moving to Bridgewaters and Twenty Four Fifth, where he has specialized in catering as the sous chef from 2005-2010 before moving into the executive catering chef role. He comes from a Sicilian, German and English lineage, which weave their way into his menus bringing a fresh simplicity.

From a traditional seated dinner, to a clambake, a country picnic or tea party, his versatility seamlessly sets any style of table. Details from cocktails, to hors d'oeuvres to desserts and petit fours are perfected. Green menus were recently introduced to his catering offerings, and organic, all-natural options are available for any event. He loves finding the right note of nostalgia for a special day, with a philosophy of creating memorable experiences.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Goldsborough also studied Italian cooking with an intensive 18-week C.I.A. program. He participates in various charity events and has been a guest on Martha Stewart Living Radio, a guest chef on The Real Housewives of New York. He has designed and led team building motivational cooking classes for Fortune 500 companies. Goldsborough lives on Long Island with his wife Erin.
